It’s New Year’s Eve down in The Hermit’s part of the world.
It’s supposed to be summer here, but the skies are moody. It’s windy, wet, and wild.
On one hand, we’re not going to see the sun go down on 2024 because we haven’t seen it all day. On the other, it feels peaceful. I can barely hear the birds, who are still singing their little hearts out.
It’s as if the rest of the world doesn’t exist.
That’s not a bad way to end a year at all, actually.
No Resolutions, Only Resolve
The Hermit doesn’t do New Year’s resolutions, but does get a bit reflective. This year has certainly had its moments, shall we say, but it’s also had some great ones.
Some things The Hermit loved in 2024:
The Wild Robot (I’m not crying, you’re crying!)
Arcane (Viktor Nation, how we feeling?)
The Arcane Soundtrack (I cannot tell you how many times I have listened to that French song)
The Rings of Power (Durin and Disa = couple goals)
Bear McCreary’s gorgeous music for it
Mushrooms (They’re growing again)
Getting a Comic-Con 2025 badge!! (Still screaming)
Cheese
Coffee
Writing/creating things
Good company and good conversations
Etc.
As for 2025:
No resolutions, only resolve. Happy New Year!
